Add System Variable

if you get the following error “ ’render’ is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.” You need to add the path to the maya bin folder. Right click on my Computer > properties > advanced > Environment Variables. In the section System Variables look for a variable called Path. Append the path to the bin folder i.e “C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2010\bin” to the end of the variable value. Separated from previous ones with a semi colon.
