Avatar !

Yesterday me and my brother went to see James Cameron´s Avatar. Eventough I tried to lower my expectations, I was expecting film history to be made. And I wasn´t dissapointed ! I was blown away ! If you haven´t seen it go see it ! I read a review in Metro the other day where the journalist compared Avatar´s impact on film history with the first Star wars movie. I wasn´t born then so I can´t really compare, but I think that in the way that Lucas changed the view of how space was portraited in movies, Cameron expanded our mind of what stories are possible to tell on the screen. In Göteborgs posten I read a review with the headline “A movie in which the technology plays the leading role”. That headline is missleading and missing the point of what Avatar is about. Alltough the technology used to create the amazing world of Pandora and its inhabitans is in itself film history it hardly plays the leading role. What makes the movie unique is that the CG doesn´t stand in the way of the immersive experience.
